Thunderstorms have impacted many areas of the Heartland overnight
bringing beneficial rainfall. At this hour, the strongest storms
continue to progress along the Oklahoma Kansas border east of
Interstate 35. Temperatures have dipped into the 50s and 60s for
much of the region. 

Additional storms are possible this afternoon with the best
chances across northern and northwest Kansas. A few of these
storms may become severe with damaging winds the chief threat.
Afternoon temperatures today are forecast to reach the 80s for
most of mid America. The best rain chances shift into eastern 
Kansas and adjacent areas of Missouri and Oklahoma tonight. 
Temperatures will be similar to this morning with lows reaching 
the 50s and 60s.
